Timothy Bassett

Medical Doctor/ Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon/Fellowship Trained Spinal Surgeon/SESS Facility Director

Dr. Tim Bassett has been in orthopedic practice since July 1994, and began SouthEastern Spine Specialists in May of 2005. He attended the University of Florida where he received both his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and his Medical Degree. Dr. Bassett then attended the University of South Carolina for his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Richland Memorial Hospital. He received further training by completing a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin specializing in spinal surgery. Dr. Bassett enjoys bow hunting, wood working, motorcycling, fly fishing, soccer, water and snow skiing, and karate. In addition, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, whom he enjoys watching participate in sports and extracurricular activities.

Susan Garcia

Practice Administrator

Susan has been employed with SESS since May of 2005 as the Practice Administrator. Prior to this position, she was the Human Resources Director for a Call Center in Florida for four years, was the Senior Nurse Recruiter for a large healthcare system in Florida for eleven-and-a-half years, and a High School history teacher for almost ten years. She graduated from college in Miami with a degree in Education and History. At SESS, she oversees the day-to-day running of the office, schedules and pre-certifies all surgeries and supervises the office staff. She has been happily married for over twenty-six years and has two grown children. She loves spending time with her family and friends and also enjoys reading, gardening, and antique buying.

Traci Bailey

Clinical Coordinator/Radiologic Technician

Traci has been working with and assisting Dr. Bassett since 1995. At SESS, Traci is a Clinical Coordinator and Radiologic Technician. In addition, she is highly involved in assisting with patient care. She has been an X-ray technician since 1989, which is when she received her certification from the DCH School of Radiology. She is happily married and has one beautiful child. Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends.

Kelley Bobo

Worker’s Compensation Specialist/Front Desk Representative

Kelley has been employed with SESS since May of 2006. She is the Worker’s Compensation Specialist. She has ten years of medical experience which includes Medical Records Analyst, Account Specialist, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Doctor’s Assistant. Here at SESS, she has worked in medical records, helps run the front desk and assists with patient care as needed. She graduated from Hillcrest High School and the University of Alabama. She is the proud mother of a beautiful son who is the love and center of her life. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis and softball. She also loves shopping, traveling, and spending time with her son, friends, and family. Additionally, she enjoys playing the piano which she has been playing for eighteen years.

Debra Franklin

Medical Billing Specialist

Debra has been with SESS since May of 2006. She works in the Insurance and Billing Department. She has been in the medical field for over thirty-four years. She enjoys working with the public and helping people with their healthcare needs. She has two grown sons and enjoys spending time with them and her friends.

Shelly Graham

Front Desk Receptionist

Shelly has been employed with SESS since May of 2007. She is one of the Front Desk Receptionists. She has eight years of medical experience which includes Medical Records, Billing Specialist and Front Desk / Check Out Receptionist. She graduated from both Tuscaloosa County High School and a private one year college. She has been married for two-and-a-half years and has two boys. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Cindy Lake

Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

Cindy has worked for SESS since June 2007. She graduated from the University of Alabama Nursing School in 1996. She received her Master’s Degree in Nursing from UAB in 2000, and received her ARNP certification in 2000. She previously worked for another orthopedic surgeon for seven years before joining our staff. At SESS, she sees and assesses patients prior to the doctor seeing patients and also assists in clinics and in the operating room. Cindy is happily married with three beautiful children. She loves spending time with her family and sees her most important job as raising three healthy, happy kids!

Pam Reeve

Medical Billing Specialist

Pam has been with SESS since March 2007. She is in the Insurance and Billing Department. With twenty-two years of experience, she not only learns things daily, but brings her knowledge of the medical field to our office. Away from work, she enjoys riding motorcycles, and enjoys watching and attending UA football, basketball, and baseball games and gymnastics events. She also loves spending time with family and friends especially her beautiful granddaughter.

Brandy Sexton

Scheduling Coordinator/Patient Care Representative

Brandy has been employed with SESS since June of 2006. She works in the Nurse Clinical area with direct patient care and also schedules tests and diagnostic procedures for the patients. She has over fourteen years of experience in medical, dental, and business offices and office management positions. She has a certification as an Account Specialist and has a degree in Management and Supervision and also in Business Administration. She is happily married and has been blessed with two children. In her spare time, she loves to travel and spend time with family and friends. She also enjoys whatever life brings her way.

Lindsay Tant

Medical Records Clerk

Lindsay has worked with SESS since April 2007 as a part-time Medical Records Clerk. She is also currently attending college where she is studying to become a pharmacist. Aside from working with SESS, Lindsay enjoys going shopping and riding 4-wheelers. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Sarah Travis

Front Desk Receptionist

Sarah has been employed with SESS since July 2007. She is one of the Front Desk Receptionists. She has fifteen years of medical experience which includes Medical Records and Billing Specialist. She graduated from Liberty High School. She has been married for six years, and in her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to church, and helping out with her nieces and nephews.
